DATA APPLIANCE - HOMECARE INSTRUCTIONS

You’re the new owner of a data appliance - Now what?

CARING FOR YOUR DATA APPLIANCE

• Each day, gently brush and rinse your appliance in cool or lukewarm water.
• When the appliance is not being worn, it should remain in the retainer case we provided.

GUIDELINES WHEN WEARING YOUR DATA APPLIANCE

• You should wear your appliance 24/7, except while eating and brushing your teeth.
• After removing your appliance, while sitting upright or standing, lightly tap your back teeth together and note which tooth or teeth touch first.
• You should not experience additional discomfort while wearing your appliance.
• You may experience relief of current discomfort while wearing your appliance.
• Do NOT wear your appliance if it has been more than two weeks since your last appointment in our office.
• You MUST wear your appliance to EVERY appointment so that we can check or adjust your appliance or bite if needed.
• Your appliance must have been worn AT LEAST THREE HOURS PRIOR to your appointment.

WHEN TO CALL US?
